Module 1: CORE module
The core module provides users with a range of management and design tools to automate and speed the production of projects, circuit diagrams, and all associated documentation in native AutoCAD DWG and DXF formats.

Module 2: ASSEMBLEY module
The assembly module provides panel designers with scheme-layout consistency checks, clash detection, and a variety of tools to allow for the semi automatic generation of cabinet drawings. - Semi automatic creation of 3D assembly layout drawings

- Multiple placement, with auto spacing of cabinet components

Module 3: Terminal / Connectors module
ED's connection and cables editor is an advanced management tool for the manipulation of terminals and devices. Assign cables to scheme terminals and elements, automatically generate terminal wiring diagrams, and define connections between terminals and/or elements. - Graphical interfaced terminal, cable and harness editor
- Automatic generation of terminal block drawings

Module 4: PLC module
The PLC module ensures consistency of information between the PLC programming software and your schematics. - Import of any manufacturers PLC ladder software
- I/O information to the schematics
- Export of all information associated with the PLC to any manufactures
- PLC ladder software programs
- Copy any of the PLC information to the wire number
- Automatic numbering of pins, addresses etc. to all numbering systems such as alphanumeric, hexadecimal, binary, decimal etc.
- Cross-reference between PLC slots and racks
- Cross-reference between PLC slots and individual inputs / outputs
- Assignment of the PLC address, label, comments and description PLC I/O information reports automatically generated
Module 5: MAX module
This module is specifically targeted at customers who require a tool for defining true point to point connections, between their project components, to help meet the marketplace demands for the new millennium. - Preferred connection paths - ED allows you to define preferred connection paths between elements with your scheme drawings
- Intelligent scheme wiring - Assign true wire types, colors, gauge sizes, and lengths, to scheme wires and increase the quality of automatically generated scheme 'from to' lists
- Automatic cabinet wiring - Max cabinets will automatically 'wire up' components based on the connections within schematics and the position of components within arrangement drawings
- Intelligent cabinet wiring - MAX will take into account the wire type and automatically calculates whether wires will fit into trunking, and in other areas determine whether optimal utilization of available space has been used
- Calculates the true shortest possible routing of the wiring based on the 3D position of the components
- Wiring diagrams - Based upon connections defined in your MAX cabinets, and/or your scheme drawings, users can semi-automatically generate wiring diagrams and have the ability to apply different automatic numbering systems
- Flexibility - ED provides users with three systems for forming true point ot point connections between project elements:
- Module 5 - Scheme preferred connection paths
- Module 5 - Max Cabinets Devices editor
These systems can be used in conjunction with one another, to allow users to create point to point connections in a way that best suits their existing practices.

Module 6: SQL module
This extension sees a complete reworking of the programs internal architecture, replacing the current databases with one SQL SERVER 2000 database. Some of the benefits clients using this system can expect include: - Vastly increased process speeds regardless of project size
- Greater range of reporting options, access any ED data to create any report types, from thousands of database fields
- Increased data security, with 'disaster recovery' systems
- Directly write information to ED's SQL database and make 'real-time' drawing amendments
- Work on, and share ED data within a world-wide multi server environment
- Eased integration/connectivity to an increased range of programs including PLM, PDM, ERP.
- 'Alien' database connection & integration into ED's SQL database.
All ED SQL data is fully compatible with other ED versions and releases.
