PlanTracer is an application for Autodesk's Architectural Desktop (ADT) and AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT, designed to automatically and/or semi-automatically convert 2D floor and building plan drawings into intelligent models . These models are suitable for immediate use in AEC or Facilities Management (FM) applications.

PlanTracer enables you to convert simple graphics of source floor plans into objects such as walls, columns, windows, doors, etc. The program can process any 2D floor plan loaded in AutoCAD or ADT. You can use DWG/DXF files or scanned raster drawings.

ADT 3.3/2004/2005 tailored to AEC requirements:

PlanTracer for ADT is the first solution on the market for Architectural Desktop (ADT) that converts floor and building plans into an ADT intellectual model automatically or semi-automatically. The conversion of 2D-drawings into an intellectual model is based on the unique algorithms that enable recognition of arbitrary objects by searching and recognizing patterns in 2D plans. PlanTracer has been developed for companies offering FM solutions and customers working with ADT.

 

Features:

  • Automatic and semi-automatic conversion of 2D-vector drawings, raster images and sketches into ADT models containing objects like walls, columns, windows, doors, furniture items, sanitary equipment units, and more;
  • The template graphic representation matches the graphic representation of the AEC-objects; PlanTracer can use the existing ADT symbol library for object recognition;
  • Processing of scanned raster images with the optional ImageEnabler module or with professional hybrid graphics editing and raster-to-vector conversion application WiseImage Pro (purchased separately);

  • PlanTracer for AutoCAD provides OLE-Automation interface for easy integration with other applications. Integration of existing drawing archives with Computer-aided FM systems requires an efficient technology to convert and capture FM-related data from the initial building drawings.
  • You may do this manually with the risk of missing out on entities and with the added time that it will take, or you can do it with PlanTracer automatically). With just one click of a button, PlanTracer will recognize a floor plan automatically. It will restore "Intelligent Objects" from vectors or raster drawings. These objects will contain all data needed for your FM solution
