Electrical Designer Foundation Training
Objective of Course
This course teaches the production of Electrical Schematic Drawing, Terminal Layout Drawing, Control Panel Layout Drawing, Bill of Materials in various formats, Connection List reports, and other associated reports using Electrical Designer. We work up at least one project from a blank starting point, and include during this project the generation of new symbol elements. It is entirely practical, with a hands-on-approach and you will have your own professional CAD computer. You will be given your own bound set of course notes, which includes a reference guide.
Agenda
- Introduction to the course and hardware
- Overview of Electrical Designer, & its choice of AutoCAD as it's main engine
- Overview of PC and Directory Structure
- Overview of screen layout including toolbars etc
- Starting a new project, including look at project record card's defining
Numbering and cross referencing formula's Starting a New drawing, including look at drawing record card's defining Drawing type, and revision history
- Defining Location Group, Zone. Drawing Single phase and multi- phase wires
- Insertion of symbols and Function of components, including numbering of wires / components
- Setting and numbering of terminals
- Cross referencing of components and equipotentials
- Use of Super functions for duplicating parts of electrical circuits and
- manipulation of circuits
- Manipulation of the Terminal Editor, including assigning multi-core cables and outputting terminal drawings in matrix format
- Assigning catalogue and record information to items in the projects, including creating new record / catalogues.
- Creating a panel layout, including viewing using different views / shading modes in 3D
- Creating and testing new symbols; Customising Titleboxes.
- Viewing some of the reports generated by Electrical Designer.
Who Should Attend?
New users of Electrical Designer. Previous basic knowledge of computers and AutoCAD is required. The course is aimed at Electrical Engineers who have good understanding of the electrical design process.

At the end of the course you will be presented with an Aceri Authorised Training certificate.
