AutoCAD Electrical Quick Start Days
The quick start days are intended to help aid the customer to achieve maximum productivity within the shortest possible timeframe ensuring a quick return on investment. It ensures that customers are up and running producing better quality documentation and schematics all in a significantly reduced timeframe.
All Quick Start Days are done on site for your convenience.
1 day costs £890.00 2 days cost £1,630.00 (Saving £150) 3 days cost £2,370.00 (Saving £300)
The Quick Start days can be made up using any combination of the following modules:
Day 1 - System Set-Up
This quick start day is intended to get your company up and running with your standards, your requirements and to ensure standardisation across all users or departments* who are using the software.
Create a company or customer standard template border
- To ensure AutoCAD Electrical automatically annotates project and drawing record card information
Create a company standard project
- Including but not limited to drawing contents sheet, bill of materials sheet etc
Set up wire types
- Defining company standard wire types to ensure standardisation
- Wire size and gauge / wire function
Set up electrical standards in accordance with company and customers existing procedures
- Component numbering methodology
- Wire numbering methodology
- Cross- referencing and how it is displayed
- Schematics or wiring schematics
Copy Project (corporate template projects)
- Ensuring standards are maintained from one job to another
Set up report file formats so they are similar to reports manually produced
Printing and Publishing Designs
* A network deployment ONLY. If files have been installed locally, then these will have to be moved before standardisation across departments can be achieved therefore using up valuable consultative time. All items may not be covered in this event.
Day 2 - Productivity
This quick start day is intended to gain better documentation out ofyour design process quicker whether it be wiring diagrams, panel footprint drawings, general assembly's or the automation of the project documentation.
Setup Automatic Report Generation
- You can combine several format SET files and save them as a group. You can use the group later to generate multiple reports automatically in a single command operation
Setup Automatic Terminal Rail Generation
- You can create all of your terminal information in table format automatically in a single command operation
Creating Panel Layouts
- Inserting panel footprints from a schematic list
- Assigning footprint blocks
- Using DIN rail
- Defining Panel drawing settings
- Configuring balloons
- Assigning item numbers and inserting balloons
- Creating panel reports
- Annotating a panel layout
Creating Wiring diagrams
- Adding wire data to footprints
- Discussing and selecting the correct wire connection annotation formats
- Annotating wire from/to information into panel footprints or traditional symbolic wiring diagrams
Day 3 - Automation
This quick start day is intended to automate your design process whether the requirement is to automatically produce PLC or loop diagrams from spreadsheet data or to automate annotation of your design rules, wire sizing and manufacturer/part assignment into your designs.
Using the PLC database file editor
- Creating your own parametric PLC modules
- Testing your custom built parametric PLC module
Setup PLC Automation
- Create drawings automatically from spreadsheet
- Create a spreadsheet template from drawing to drive multiple drawings
- Loop diagrams
Interface AutoCAD Electrical with the PLC software (dependent upon PLC software)
- Export and import I/O data from AutoCAD Electrical to PLC program software
Exporting data to spreadsheets
- Saving design rules, cable & wire sizing, manufacturer and part information in spreadsheet of common circuit types
- To facilitate the ability to update the drawings from spreadsheet
- Updating a drawing or project from spreadsheet
- Be able to modify multiple drawings with revised part number information or tag information as an example without editing a drawing
Updating spreadsheet data into drawings
- Updating a drawing or project with design rules, cable & wire sizing, manufacturer and part information from a spreadsheet of common circuit types
- Updating a drawing or project from spreadsheet
Importing parts from Excel into the parts database
- Automate the import of you company's standard parts
